Park Han Byul becomes an adorable soldier for ‘Bolder By The Day’


Park Han Byul is charming fans with a photo from her new sitcom, ’Bolder By The Day‘, in which she plays an adorable, yet strong soldier.
Commenting on her first attempt at sitcom acting, Park Han Byul said, “It’s very interesting to be dressed in a uniform that I generally have no real connection to. I’m enjoying this unique experience of entering the army world. I’m very excited about all the characters that I will get to act out through my sitcom role as Lee Han Byul.”
Judging from the comfortable atmosphere we’ve had on set from the very beginning, I expect a lot of good chemistry among our team. Although I don’t actually know what military life is like, this is a fun sitcom so I wanted to share the moment with all the viewers.”
She will play the role of a quirky, four-dimensional soldier born into the military family which the show revolves around. ‘Bolder By The Day’ is the collaborative work between Director Jo Jin Kyu (‘My Wife Is A Gangster‘) and writers Moon Sun Hee (‘Golden Fishery‘) and Choi Dae Woong. Other cast members include Park Haemi, Lee Jae Yong, and Kang Ji Sup.
The show will be airing its first episode December 1st.

KARA and Rainbow to undergo acting training with Kingkong Entertainment

On November 16th, DSP Media revealed that they’ve signed a contract with Kingkong Entertainment to enable their artists to undergo specialized acting training.
A DSP Media representative explained that there’s a growing trend of idols appearing in K-movies and dramas, and so they struck a deal with Kingkong Entertainment to help their artists develop their acting chops. KARA and Rainbow will receive acting training from Kingkong, who will assist them in every way with incoming acting offers.
Kingkong Entertainment expressed their pleasure in working with DSP Media, and stated that they’ll be taking care of KARA and Rainbow’s future acting deals.
With this deal, we may see KARA and Rainbow in future productions alongside Kingkong’s in-house actors, like Kim Sun Ah and Kim Bum.

Super Junior to kick off global “Super Show 4″ tour this weekend


Back in October, we reported that Super Junior would embark on a worldwide concert tour called “Super Show 4. Additional details about their upcoming tour were revealed today through K-media press releases regarding their next stops and song list.
The boys will kick off their tour in Seoul on November 19th and 20th at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul. Afterwards, they will move onto Japan for performances at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka for December 10th and 11th. Super Junior will then ravel to other Asian cities before reaching major American and European cities.
“Super Show 4″ will include all of Super Junior’s latest songs from their 5th studio album, incorporating their usual glamourous stages, gags and high quality performances to touch their fans’ hearts.
More details regarding concert dates in other cities will be revealed at a later date.

MBLAQ‘s Seungho and Mir are drawing interesting responses to their latest selca.
On November 14th, Seungho tweeted, “Rapper brothers” before attaching the photo above.
Both Seungho and Mir are seen dressed in simple shirts and accessories, which highlight their masculine style. But what drew the most interest was their spiky, gold-toned hairstyles, causing many netizens to exclaim that they looked like ‘Saiyans’ from ‘Dragon Ball Z’.

Kim Hyun Joong reaches #1 on Oricon’s import albums chart


Kim Hyun Joong has done it again.
The singer previously hit #1 on Oricon‘s import albums chart with his first solo album ‘Breakdown’, and he’s done it once more with his 2nd mini-album, ‘Lucky’.
Oricon’s weekly chart for November 14th revealed that Kim Hyun Joong came in 1st with ‘Lucky. He was able to beat out globally famous artists like Coldplay and Lady Gaga, a feat that serves to prove his strong popularity in Japan.
Kim Hyun Joong stated, “Hearing about placing 1st on the Oricon in the midst of traveling around different cities to meet with fans has made me even happier. I will always remember the thoughtfulness of the fans who have been a great support to me, and will try my best to put on the best performance.”
In related news, the singer kicked off his fan meeting tour on the 9th, and will visit 8 different cities in Japan.

Deli Spice acknowledges 2NE1 as best female idol group


Rock band Deli Spice was featured on the November 13th episode of Mnet‘s ‘Mic‘ to talk about their music and various subjects.
When member Yoon Junho was asked which female idols were currently his favorite, he responded with, “There are so many these days. They’re all so talented now. They have strong vocals and all of them can dance extremely well, too. The first female idol group to make me feel that way was 2NE1. Maybe that’s why… but I think they definitely stand out as the best female idol group out there“.
He continued, “I feel like they were grouped not only for their looks, but for their individuality and they work well together as a unit.”
Deli Spice is one of the few that represent Korean rock bands. They debuted in 1997 with their first album ‘Deli Spice‘. Their hit songs included “Chow Chow“, and “Confession“.

KARA receives VIP Head of State treatment in Japan


Korean girl group KARA was featured on an episode of Gansia TV’s Adventure Tutorial in Japan that recently aired on the 12th.
The ‘KARA Special’ episode aired for one hour, and the girls were given the VIP Head of State treatment upon their arrival.
The head producer, the production manager and the broadcast producer all personally stood outside the building awaiting KARA’s arrival as did the executives and program staff members.
The girls who arrived in a white stretch limo were greeted with a band playing a cover of their song “Mister“, pleasantly surprising them.
A red carpet was also laid out for the girls, a gesture made for only the most elite high politicians.
Korean and Japanese netizens alike were shocked by the VIP treatment KARA received. On Japanese community site 2CH, netizens wrote, “This is the best VIP treatment“, “I think KARA is the first to receive such high treatment“, “The KARA girls are Japan’s top idols“, “This is so different from how they were treated just a year ago. The girls are huge stars in Japan“, and “This is the first time they aired an hour-long broadcast of a celebrity since Michael Jackson’s death“.
NHK of Japan will also be airing a 50-minute episode ‘MJ presents KARA‘ on the 16th, reviewing the girls’ biggest hits.
