2NE1′s CL scandalizes netizens for offensive language on her sweater

On September 2nd, the members of 2NE1 departed for Japan to begin their mini-album promotions. It all seemed to be going well, until netizens began to examine the photos taken of CL at the airport.

The photos have become a controversial issue, as netizens spotted the offensive language written on the sweater CL wore that day.

Phrases such as ‘f*** everything’, ‘take my tits’, and ‘cut here’ written near the neckline could be read on CL’s top.

Many netizens were shocked by CL’s choice to wear an outfit that included such language and left criticisms saying, “For an idol who has such a strong influence on teenagers, this is an inappropriate outfit,” and “There’s no way CL didn’t know what the phrases meant, since she is fluent in English.”

However, other netizens came to CL’s defense and argued, “It’s just fashion, there’s nothing wrong with having those phrases on a shirt“, and some insisted, “This was not a public meeting, we cannot judge her for the outfits she chooses to wear during her own personal time.”

It was also revealed that the design of the sweater was derived from a work of art by British artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster.

What do you guys think, was it wrong of CL to wear an outfit that included such sensitive language, or is there nothing wrong with merely trying to express herself through her fashion?

[Spoiler: Girl K] Han Groo’s drama, ‘Girl K’, receives praise for authenticity

CGV‘s 3-part TV drama ‘Girl K‘ is receiving a strong following thanks to its gritty action scenes and Han Groo’s acting.

The first episode of ‘Girl K’ hit the airwaves on September 3rd, and fans were blown away by Han Groo’s dramatic transformation into ‘Cha Yeon Jin‘, a young killer with a heavy vendetta. Though she utilized different weapons and martial arts moves, viewers were particularly impressed by her blade-fight scene due to its ruthlessness and slick sequencing.

But action scenes can only carry a work so far — Han Groo’s strong acting lies at the core of everyone’s praise, especially after it was revealed that she had only a minimal amount of acting experience.

Prior to this, Han Groo was known as a rookie idol who had some cute songs, but unfortunately didn’t rank very high on the charts. Thanks to this ‘Nikita’-esque drama, however, Han Groo is sure to be on more casting radars for upcoming projects.

INFINITE stuns with orchestra remix of “Be Mine” on Inkigayo

INFINITE has been earning widespread headlines, but it’s more than just for their shiny new trophy that they won recently on Mnet‘s “M! Countdown“. The group recently started performing an orchestra remix of their title track, “Be Mine“, which awed fans with its rare combination of classical sound and idol performances.

While the original “Be Mine” focused on a slightly retro style, the boys mixed things up by bringing in a 30-member orchestra to add a classical twist to their hit song. Combined with INFINITE’s sleek fashion, viewers praised the boys for coming up with a stage that’s not easy to accomplish, nor seen every day.

Woollim Entertainment commented, “It was a stage specially prepared to thank their fans for the support. They’ll be working hard to show an even bigger variety of stages.”

Jay Park loses to Huh Gak in dancing on ‘Immortal Song 2′

Breakdancer Jay Park has lost to ballad crooner Huh Gak in a dance-off during KBS‘s ‘Immortal Song 2‘!

On September 3rd’s episode, Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun, MBLAQ‘s G.O, Jay Park, Huh Gak, SISTAR‘s Hyorin, and 4minute‘s Jiyoon divided up into teams to battle in friendly competitions.

On this day, there was a bitter battle between dancers and ballad singers. The more performance-based Jay Park, Hyorin, and Jiyoon formed the dance team, whereas the more vocal-based Kyuhyun, G.O, and Huh Gak formed the ballad team.

The ballad team faced trouble from the beginning, as their opponents possessed abilities to not only impress with their visuals, but with their vocals as well. But the results of the competition was a complete shut-out: G.O, Huh Gak, and Kyuhyun won all three of their respective competitions, achieving an all-kill on the show. The top award went to Kyuhyun, who put together a collaborative performance with his sister.

Earlier, Jay Park had boasted, “I have confidence to win against anybody I’m matched up with.” He was shocked, therefore, when he found out that Huh Gak beat him with his secret dance skills.

Jay Park had suggested a b-boy battle, and at MC Shin Dong Yup‘s request, attempted to kill Huh Gak’s confidence by performing the windmill.

But there was a huge twist at the end. Huh Gak hesitantly walked onto the stage and then stunned everyone when he performed a head spin. As it turns out, Huh Gak had experience as a b-boy back in grade school. Huh Gak explained he gave up dancing after gaining massive weight, to which Jay Park replied, “My pride is hurt because I lost to Huh Gak hyung in both dancing and singing”.
