Super Star K3 vs Birth of a Star2, who will win?

The two biggest survival audition programs in Korea, ‘Super Star K3‘ and ‘Birth of a Star2‘ will be battling each other out for viewership… and only one will come out on top.
On September 9th, MBC‘s star audition, ‘Birth of a Star2′ made it’s first appearance on television and challenged Mnet‘s ‘Super Star K3′ for a fierce showdown.
‘Super Star K3′ which can be considered the most popular audition show in Korea has enjoyed stable ratings and interest from the public.
Unlike the first season, ‘Birth of a Star2′ has chosen to air their show in the same time slot as ‘Super Star K3′.  This can be taken as a direct challenge to the top competitor.
According to tv research company, ‘TNms Media‘, ‘Birth of a Star2′ received an impressive 11.6% in viewer ratings while their counterpart, ‘Super Star K3′ measured 9.952%.
Considering how viewer ratings for tv programs fluctuate, we can’t decide on a clear winner just yet from the 1st round.  The intense battle between these two giant programs heads up is garnering a lot of attention from the public.
Meanwhile in ‘Super Star K3′, Son Ye Rim passed to the next round, but is facing the crisis of elimination.  On the other hand, singer, Huh Gak‘s little sister, Shin Ji Soo has been alarming spectators with her selfish behaviors.  Furthermore, contestant, Shin Hye Rim has been dominating the competition at ‘Birth of a Star2′ with her impressive vocal skills.

[Spoiler: WGM] ‘Khuntoria’ snaps new wedding photos at the beach

On this week’s broadcast of MBC‘s “We Got Married“, the “Khuntoria“ couple – 2PM‘s Nichkhun and f(x)‘s Victoria – shot some wedding photos on their last day at the Maldive Islands.
The “Khuntoria” couple headed to the beach, where they enjoyed their time snorkeling and shooting wedding photos by themselves.
The couple had initially appointed a professional photographer for their wedding photo spread, but both were unsatisfied with the results and decided to do a phot shoot by themselves using only a digital camera.
Due to the restricted height of the tripod, the couple constantly had to crouch down to meet the camera’s range. Consequently, they earned themselves a new couple name: the “split legs” couple.
Although they had to use the self-timing function to take pictures, both Nichkhun and Victoria were very satisfied with how the quality of the photos turned out in the end. Click Here

[Spoiler: WGM] ‘Khuntoria’ couple sheds tears as they announce

\
This week’s episode of MBC‘s “We Got Married” aired the couple’s last day at the beautiful Maldives Islands before they were told the sudden news that their virtual marriage would soon come to an end.
On September 10th, 2PM‘s Nichkhun and f(x)’s Victoria spent their last vacation day at a nearby beach, where they had fun snorkeling and playing a game called, “Who can throw their sandals the furthest”. The couple also shot some wedding photos by themselves, since they felt dissatisfied with the pictures taken by a professional photographer.
During her interview with the producer, Victoria expressed, “I’m happy that I was able to spend time with Nichkhun in such a beautiful place like this. The words ‘bartenders’, ‘sailing’ and ‘Maldives’ will always remind me of Nichkhun.” Nichkhun agreed, as he said, “The world ‘Maldives’ reminds me of Victoria.”
Soon after returning to Korea, the couple each received a CD containing video footage of their most memorial moments, including their first awkward meet a year and three months ago.
But the CD had an unexpected message in its last scene, which read, “Nichkhun and Victoria’s virtual marriage will end on August 31st, 00:00.” As soon as the video finished, both Nichkhun and Victoria shed tears of disbelief and sadness over the sudden news.
The last episode of “Khuntoria” will be broadcast this coming September 17th. Stay tuned!

Davichi shares their unique Chuseok wishes

Back in 2006, Davichi met the ‘Midas hand of music’, Kim Kwang Soo, on Chuseok and began training to achieve their dreams of becoming singers. Aged 21 and 16 at the time, the girls watch the full moon and prayed to be recognized as singers with exceptional vocal talent.
Haeri stated, “Every time Chuseok rolls around, the first thing I think is, ‘Wow, it’s already been x amount of years.’  It’s a time where I reflect on the past and make goals for the future.”
Their agency has completely cleared out their schedule on the day of Chuseok as a present for their debut anniversary. With their comeback, they’ve had at least five to six activities lined up per day in order to make up for their one-year and three-months hiatus.
Minkyung explained, “Even if it’s only for just a day, it’s truly a sweet moment for us.  We can sleep as much as we want and eat delicious food with our family.  I’m going to catch up on the variety shows that I missed out on.”
This year, their full moon wish is different from the one they first made five years ago.  Haeri said, “I’m going to wish to meet an amazing man this year. My ideal type is someone smooth with an attention to detail. I don’t like bad guys; I prefer someone that can watch over me.”
Minkyung continued, “I’m going to wish for independence.  I want to live alone lately, especially because I’ve been waking up my family so often lately while working on the piano late at night.  I want a space for myself where I can play music and watch movies.”

While working on their comeback album, the girls revealed, “There were a lot of nights where we couldn’t sleep because we were so worried. It’s been three years since our debut, and it’s an important milestone for us because we’re at a point where we can predict whether we’re going to become long-run singers or not. We know how important it is, which is why we paid special attention to our album’s concept.”
Haeri added, “Our biggest concern was whether we should go with a radical change or adopt a performance style using dance moves. We were even more careful because of how long our hiatus was.  Although we listened to the advice of those around us, it basically boiled down to our roots. We decided to just go with what we’ve been doing all along.”
Minkyung continued, “I’m really happy because the response has been so positive, which debunked our concerns. There hasn’t been a major slump for Davichi in the three years we’ve been promoting, and so we feel lucky. This is an important time for us, so we’re going to focus on our roots and our songs.”
Haeri concluded, “I want people to regard Davichi as ‘singers who truly work hard.’  I really like the phrase, ‘Silent but deadly.’  I’m going to continue working to grow and mature in order to show an improved image.”

MBC’s ‘Music Core’ experiences yet another camera accident

On the September 10th episode of ’Show! Music Core‘, MBC experienced yet another live broadcast accident, which forced the show to start right back from the beginning.
About one minute into the broadcast, a camera blanked out, similar to the blank out that occurred during Chocolat‘s debut stage earlier this month. The screen then went back to the beginning to start all over again.
The artists who experienced this unfortunate mistake were pop-rock band Sweet Revenge, with their title track, “Rule Breaker“.
This is Music Core’s third live broadcast mistake of the year, starting with MC Jiyeon‘s voice being heard during F.T. Island‘s performance back in June and Chocolat’s two-second black out on September 3rd.

Representatives of T.O.P. Media revealed, “Fans have been making many requests to see TEEN TOP perform that particular song on stage, so we decided to use it as the follow-up.”
The ballad is one that brings out TEEN TOP’s boyish side, as it’s about a man’s shy confession to his long-time crush. The song received as much love as their title track, “Don’t Spray Perfume“, so it’s an exciting way to say goodbye to their “Roman” album.
