Super Junior’s Heechul sends a Chuseok message from training camp

On September 13th, the official Korean army training camp blog shared a video for Chuseok, which featured warm messages from Super Junior‘s Heechul and gagman Oh In Taek!
The video kicks off with footage of the men playing various games together before they all settle down to perform the ‘charye‘ in front of a ceremonial table.
‘Charye‘ is an important rite performed during the Chuseok holiday, as it honors one’s ancestors with a temporary shrine, containing certain foods and drinks. These items are placed in specific spots on a table, and many steps are included to properly show one’s respects.
Heechul can be seen gravely handling one of the steps before the group bows down collectively, as per custom.
Heechul greeted the public by stating, “Hello, this is the ‘big space star’, Kim Heechul.  I hope that no one is sick over the Chuseok holiday. I’m at the Nonsan training camp receiving four weeks of training with everyone else, so please don’t worry.  I hope you will all be well for your parents and family.”
While many fans praised Heechul’s diligence in following through tradition, many others were distracted by how Heechul had a picture of  Wonder Girls‘ Sohee on his cubby.

SM asserts that BoA will not make a Korean comeback this year

When BoA tweeted that she was spending her Chuseok holiday in the recording studio, rumors swirled around the possibility of a Korean comeback by the end of the year.
On September 11th, BoA had tweeted, “Is everyone spending a good Chuseok?  I’ve been having such busy days lately, so much so that I even forgot it was Chuseok.  I’m going to be spending my Chuseok in the recording studio~”
Many wondered whether she was recording for a Korean comeback, and several industry representatives even included her in their list of returns for the latter half of the year. Representatives of SM Entertainment, however, have asserted that she will not be making a comeback this year.
They stated, “We know that a lot of people are curious about whether she’ll be making a comeback this year, especially after her Chuseok tweet, but BoA has no plans of releasing another song this year. She’s always been recording songs whenever she has spare time, and the song she recorded over Chuseok will most likely be released as a Japanese single or another album.”

SNSD’s Seohyun shares the story of m eeting her idol, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon

Recently, allkpop reported that SNSD‘s Seohyun finally got to meet her idol, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon of South Korea. On the September 13th broadcast of SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart‘, Seohyun confessed, “My heart was pounding” when asked about the experience of meeting her role model.
She started the story, “August 12th was an honorable and joyous moment. This was the day I met Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.” She continued, “It was difficult debuting into the entertainment world through SNSD at the age of 17. During that time, I came across a book that about Secretary General Ban Ki Moon’s life. After that book, he became my role model.”
Seohyun added, “Through his biography, I found out that Secretary General Ban Ki Moon was a great man. I never imagined that I would get to meet him in person. However, SNSD ended up participating in the inaugural ceremony for the ‘Help African Children’ project, and I learned that the Secretary General would be attending as well.”
Seohyun revealed that she was so happy at the thought of meeting Secretary General Ban Ki Moon that she spent several days writing him a letter. She also prepared a SNSD album and vitamin supplements as gifts.
Although there were some complications, at the end, Seohyun was able to present him with the gifts she prepared. Remembering the moment, she stated, “I felt like time stopped at that moment” – drawing the attention of guests and viewers.
Meanwhile, fellow member Sunny and Hyoyeon also guested on ‘Strong Heart’ as well as Boom, Jun Hye Bin, Noh Joo Hyun, BMK, Yang Se Hyung, Yoo Hyun Sang, Kim Do Kyun, and Yoon Hee Suk.

MBLAQ’s eye catching magic light performance on “Idol Battle Lord of Magic”

On September 13th, MBLAQ appeared on KBS2TV‘s Chuseok Special, “Idol Battle Lord of Magic” where they put on an eye catching performance using lights.
Using light on the darkened stage, MBLAQ’s five members came together and performed perfectly as one, receiving loud cheers and applause.
Lee Eun Keul, the magician who taught them the routine stated, “When they made an image it became a perfect picture and looked like one piece of art”. He went on to praise MBLAQ saying it was the best performance.
Koyote’s Shinji replied, “It wasn’t just wonderful, it was also a magical performance that sucked me in.”
Jeon Won Ju also praised MBLAQ commenting, “I’m speechless… if they lacked in practice they could’ve never pulled off that performance, it was the ultimate illusion”.
In this episode Super Junior, 2PM, T-ara, Eun Ji Won, Hwan Hee, Z:EA, Koyote, miss A, G.NA, and SISTAR also took the stage with various magical performances.

Super Junior to release repackaged album, “A-Cha”!

Dominating charts and sweeping trophies for weeks on end with “Mr. Simple“, Super Junior is gearing up to do it all over again with their upcoming repackaged album, “A-Cha“!
“A-Cha” will contain all 13 songs from “Mr. Simple Version B“, in addition to four new songs.
The song “A-CHA” will act as their title track, and is said to be a rock-based, electro house number. “Oops!!” guest-features labelmates f(x) and has raps personally penned by members Leeteuk, Heechul, Shindong, and Eunhyuk.
Super Junior-M member Henry teamed up with Leeteuk to compose “Andante“, an emotional ballad that’s sure to pluck heartstrings with its sentimental lyrics. Finally, the album includes “A Day“, which aims to showcase Super Junior’s mature color.

Brave Brothers to be a judge on MBC’s “Singer and Trainee”

On September 13th, Brave Brothers will reveal his judging style for MBC Chuseok Special “Singer and Trainee“.
Brave Brothers, who’s already regarded as a cruel producer thanks to his recent featuring on MBC’s “Knee Drop Guru” and KBS‘s “Immortal Song 2“, gave the trainees his blunt opinion while sharing some sincere advice.
His agency, Brave Entertainment, heightened the anticipation for this program by stating, “Brave Brothers made trainees nervous with his unstoppable brutal honesty. More than anything before, I think this broadcast will showcase overwhelming tension“.
Judging trainees alongside Brave Brothers are “I Am A Singer“‘s Kim Yoo Gon PD, BMK, and composer Jo Young Soo .
“Singer and Trainee” is an audition program where trainees, who are currently training under agencies, receives additional training from already established singers. It’s said to be a survival competition full of tension.

UEE shows off some skin in a bath scene for ‘Birdie Buddy’

Fans of After School‘s UEE were in for a shock when they watched September 13th’s episode of  tvN‘s “Birdie Buddy“!
The show aired a bath scene with UEE in a natural spring. The storyline was that golf master ‘Yoon Gwang Baek‘ (played by Robert Holley) put ‘Sung Mi Soo‘ (played by Uee) through a hellish training routine. Because of this, ‘Mi Soo’ didn’t have time to wash off the paint and ended up taking a bath in the valley.
The filming took place at a valley in Young Wol during the winter, and despite the cold weather, UEE was said to have enthusiastically jumped into the water to help bring a good shot.
Fans marvelled over UEE’s smooth shoulders and healthy beauty, as they remarked, “This is what I call true beauty“, “I like rounded shoulders more than jutting collarbones“, and “She looks so cold“.
